## The Big Idea

Packers safety Xavier McKinney confirmed to Demovsky that the NFL fined him for postgame comments about the officiating after Sunday's loss to the Lions. He wouldn't give the amount, but the league minimum for criticizing officials is $25,000, and McKinney laughed that it "wasn't less than that."

## Key Points

- **Confirmed (McKinney, on the record):** he was fined.
- **Not confirmed:** the exact amount. Only the $25,000 floor is known.
- McKinney said it was worth it to stand up for his team: "I make enough money so I'll be OK."

## Quick Context

- The NFL fines players for publicly criticizing officials; amounts are set by the league's annual fine schedule.
- Green Bay bounced back from the Lions loss by beating Carolina 27-19 on Thursday night.
